Back in 2017, when I launched PlantSnap, I never imagined it would become the #1 app in the Apple App Store within a year. I just knew that people love nature and that an easy-to-use plant identification tool could help reconnect them with the world around them.

Fast forward to 2022, and I knew it was time for something bigger. EarthSnap was born—not just for plants, but for all living things. The goal? To create the ultimate AI-powered tool for identifying, learning about, and appreciating every species on Earth.

Why does this matter? Because understanding nature is the first step toward protecting it. The more people learn about the plants, animals, and ecosystems in their own backyard, the more likely they are to care and take action.

As we prepare to relaunch EarthSnap in April 2025, I’m more excited than ever to see how people will use it. I truly believe technology can be a force for good—and this is just the beginning. Stay tuned!
